The word “Kinini” means, literally, ‘this big thing right here’. It is the name of the collaboration of cooperatives seeking to pool their efforts to improve their lots.

Kinini is also the name of a washing station and cooperative located in Kinini town, which collects from the neighboring villages of Tumba and Mageragere where 85% of the members are women. Indy Loves Coffee resonates with the people who are behind this coffee as they were once labeled “Dreamers”. Kinini Village started off without funding, land and financial backing. Today they are a highly respected green coffee producer that provides jobs, trainings and opportunities for the members of their community. ILC has similar ambitions to grow where we can also provide similar opportunities for the Indianapolis community.
